Argus Monitoring Solutions Hires New CEO
Birmingham, AL, June 1, 2023 – Argus Monitoring Solutions Holdings, LLC (“Argus” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce the addition of Jeff Smith as Chief Executive Officer. Argus, formed by Benford Capital Partners (“BCP”) in 2021, is a test & measurement holding company of tech-enabled seismic and environmental monitoring companies that serve the infrastructure, quarry, and mining industries.
Jeff joins Argus after nearly 25 years of cross functional experience and leadership roles in multiple service industries. Most recently, Jeff worked as Chief Operating Officer of New Market Waste Solutions, a private equity owned waste and recycling managed services company, where he led the business to significant growth and a successful exit in early 2023. Jeff has additional leadership experience with Service Logic, the largest privately-owned HVAC company in the United States; Brady Services, a commercial building services organization in North Carolina; and Ingersoll Rand, a multinational manufacturer of flow and industrial products.
In his new role as CEO, Jeff will lead the next phase of Argus’ collective growth by (i) developing and executing a consolidated new business development strategy, (ii) supporting the existing teams in efficiently managing and scaling field service capabilities, and (iii) evaluating and implementing integration opportunities within existing businesses and future acquisitions.
Jeff commented, “The leadership teams at Sauls, Seismic Surveys, and Nomis have built world class capabilities that are respected throughout the industry. I look forward to working with everyone to build on their success to date and find new ways to enhance the value we bring to our customers.”
Brian Staff, BCP Operating Partner, added, “Jeff is an excellent addition to the Argus team. His customer focus and diverse leadership experiences in service businesses will help Argus grow in the coming years.”
